Semih Şentürk (born April 29, 1983) is a former Turkish footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was mainly responsible for scoring goals.
Semih spent most of his playing career at Fenerbahçe, a famous Turkish club. He played there from 1999 to 2014. During his time, he helped the team win 5 Süper Lig titles and 2 Turkish Cup titles. He started his journey in the Fenerbahçe youth team and worked his way up. Semih was also part of the Turkish national team that reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2008. He was the top scorer in the 2007–08 season with 17 goals.

Playing Career
Semih Şentürk began his football journey at Özçamdibispor, a local club in İzmir, in 1993. He joined Fenerbahçe in 1999. He really became a key player for Fenerbahçe during the 2007–08 Süper Lig season. That year, he scored 17 goals and became the league's top scorer!
Because of his great performance, he was made the team's vice-captain in 2007. This was a big honor! On August 6, 2008, Semih scored four goals in one European match against MTK Budapest. This made him only the second Turkish player ever to do so. He signed new contracts to stay with Fenerbahçe until 2014.
After leaving Fenerbahçe on June 19, 2013, Semih joined Antalyaspor. He scored his first goal for them on January 26, 2014. Later, he also played for other Turkish clubs like İstanbul Başakşehir and Eskişehirspor.
International Matches
Semih Şentürk was chosen to play for the Turkish national team by coach Fatih Terim. He played a very important role in UEFA Euro 2008.
- On June 11, he came into the game against Switzerland as a substitute and scored a powerful header to tie the game.
- In the quarter-finals against Croatia, Semih scored a goal in the very last second of extra time! This amazing goal meant the game went to a penalty shootout, which Turkey won.
- In the semi-final against Germany, Semih scored another crucial goal in the 86th minute to tie the score again. However, Germany scored right at the end, and Turkey lost.
Because of his incredible goals at the last minute, the media often called him the super-sub of the tournament.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing, Semih Şentürk returned to Fenerbahçe in November 2020. This time, he came back as a youth coach, helping young players learn and grow. In July 2023, he was promoted to be the head coach of the club's Under-19 team. He left this position on September 18, 2024.
