Sergey Piskunov (Ukrainian: Сергій Вадимович Піскунов) is a talented Ukrainian artist. He was born on April 9, 1989, in Lysychansk. Sergey is famous for his amazing hyperrealism paintings. Hyperrealism is a style of art where paintings look incredibly real, almost like high-quality photographs.

About Sergey Piskunov

Sergey Piskunov was born in the city of Lysychansk, which is in the Luhansk Oblast region of Ukraine. He studied Computer Science at the Academy of the Customs Service of Ukraine. He finished his studies in 2012.

How Sergey Started Painting

During his third year at the academy, Sergey began to teach himself about fine arts. This happened after his future wife gave him brushes and paints as a gift. He quickly fell in love with painting. Before he even finished his studies, Sergey had already shown his artwork in three different exhibitions.

His Career Path

After graduating, Sergey first worked for the State Customs Service of Ukraine in Kyiv. From 2013 to 2016, he also worked as a software tester for various companies. After that, he decided to focus completely on his art. He became a full-time artist.

Awards and Recognition

Sergey's artwork has won many awards. His work from the "Golden Masks" series was a winner at the Artboxproject in Miami in 2018. He was also named "Artist of the Future" by the Contemporary Art Curator Magazine. In addition, he was a finalist for the "Artist of the Year" award from the CIRCLE foundation. He competed against many other artists for this honor.

International Attention

In 2018, the famous Canadian model Coco Rocha posed for a photoshoot related to his paintings. Sergey Piskunov's work has been featured in special magazines about hyperrealism. His paintings are also shown in London's Plus One Gallery, which is well-known for hyperrealism art.
