The Serra de Rubió is a beautiful mountain range found in Catalonia, Spain. It sits between two areas called comarques (like counties), Anoia and Bages. You can find it near the towns of Rubió, Castellfollit del Boix, Òdena, and Els Prats de Rei.
The tallest point in the Serra de Rubió is a peak called Còpia de Palomes. It stands at about 837 meters (2,746 feet) high. The mountain range itself is about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) long and 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) wide.

Exploring the Serra de Rubió Landscape
The Serra de Rubió is known for its many trees. Most of the mountainside is covered in Aleppo Pine trees, which are very common here.
Trees and Plants
You can also find other types of pine trees, like the Austrian Pine. These often grow in wetter areas or shady spots. The Scots Pine is less common and usually found higher up, above 700 meters (2,300 feet). There are also lots of Oak trees and holm oak trees throughout the area.
Animals of the Mountains
Many different animals call the Serra de Rubió home. You might spot a roe deer or a wild boar. Other common animals include the red fox, the European rabbit, and the European hare. These animals help make the mountain range a lively place.
Life and Landmarks
Not many people live directly in the Serra de Rubió, only about 200 residents. They live in traditional country houses called masies, which are spread out across the land.
Historic Chapels
You can also find several old chapels scattered around. The most important ones are Santa Maria de Rubió and Sant Martí de Maçana. There's also a very old Romanic chapel called Sant Pere d'Ardesa.
Modern and Ancient Sites
The Serra de Rubió is home to the Serra de Rubió Wind Farm. This is the largest wind farm in Catalonia, with around 50 large wind turbines that help create clean energy.
You can also visit the Marimon i Casulleres rock shelter. This is a large rock cave where two famous local bandits used to hide a long time ago. For hikers, there's a mountain retreat called Refugi Mas del Tronc on the northern side of the range. The popular GR7 path hiking trail passes right by it.
