The Seward Mountains are a small mountain range located in southeastern Alaska, United States. You can find them near the upper part of the Portland Canal. This mountain range covers an area of about 107 square kilometers (that's about 41 square miles).
The Seward Mountains are part of a larger group of mountains called the Boundary Ranges. These Boundary Ranges are themselves a section of the even bigger Coast Mountains. A part of the eastern edge of the Misty Fjords National Monument also crosses through these mountains.
Where are the Seward Mountains?
It's interesting to note that even though they are called the Seward Mountains, they are not close to Seward, Alaska. They are also not near the Seward Peninsula.
The Seward Peninsula is a completely different area. It has its own four mountain ranges. These are the Kigluaik Mountains, the Bendeleben Mountains, the Darby Mountains, and the York Mountains. So, remember, the Seward Mountains are in southeastern Alaska, far from the town of Seward or the Seward Peninsula.
