Shacsha is a big mountain in Peru. It is also known as Shaqsha, Huanchan, or Huantsán Chico. This mountain is part of the Andes mountain range. Specifically, it is in the Cordillera Blanca section of the Andes.
Shacsha is a very tall peak. It stands about 5,703 meters (18,711 feet) high. Some other measurements say it is 5,632 meters (18,478 feet) tall.
Where is Shacsha Mountain?
Shacsha is located in the Ancash Region of Peru. It is found in the Huaraz Province, within the Olleros District.
The mountain is southwest of another peak called Huantsán. It is also west of Uruashraju. The city of Huaraz lies southeast of Shacsha.
What's in the Name?
The name "Shacsha" or "Shaqsha" might come from the Ancash Quechua language. It could mean "jingle bell". It might also refer to a special dancer from the Ancash Region.
