Shadab Khan (born 4 October 1998) is a talented Pakistani international cricket player. He plays for the Pakistan national cricket team. Shadab is an all-rounder, which means he is good at both batting and bowling. He is known as Pakistan's most successful bowler in Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Many people also think he is one of the best fielders in Pakistan.
Shadab is the captain of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Under his leadership, the team won the PSL in 2024. This was a record third win for the team in the tournament's history. He was also part of the Pakistan team that won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

About Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan was born in 1998 in Mianwali, a city in Punjab, Pakistan. On 23 January 2023, he married Malaika Saqlain. Her father is Saqlain Mushtaq, a famous Pakistani cricket coach and former player.
Shadab's Cricket Journey
Shadab Khan started his Twenty20 (T20) career on 26 August 2016. He played for Rawalpindi in the 2016–17 National T20 Cup. His great performance in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy helped him get noticed. After that, he was signed to play for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League. Later in 2017, Shadab also joined the Brisbane Heat for the 7th season of the Big Bash League.
International Debut and Early Success
Shadab made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan on 26 March 2017. This match was against the West Indies. He bowled very well, setting a record for the most economical bowling figures for a bowler in their first T20I match. The next month, he was added to Pakistan's Test team for their series against the West Indies.
He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Pakistan on 7 April 2017. This was also against the West Indies. His Test debut for Pakistan followed on 30 April 2017, again against the West Indies. Shadab was a key player in Pakistan's team that won the 2017 Champions Trophy. In September 2017, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recognized his talent. They named him the Emerging Player of the Year.
Key Moments and Achievements
On 16 October 2017, Shadab Khan scored his first half-century (50 runs) in an ODI match. This was against Sri Lanka. He and Babar Azam built a strong partnership, helping their team reach a good score. When he bowled, Shadab took three important wickets. Pakistan won the match, and Shadab was named the man of the match for his excellent all-round performance.
In June 2019, Shadab was chosen to play for the Edmonton Royals. This was a franchise team in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. In December 2021, he became the captain of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League.
On 18 December 2020, Shadab captained the Pakistan team for the first time in an international match. He led the team in a T20I against New Zealand. This happened because the regular captain, Babar Azam, was injured.
World Cups and Milestones
Shadab Khan was part of Pakistan's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019. Before the tournament, he had a virus and missed some matches against England. However, he recovered in time to play in the World Cup. On 23 June 2019, during a World Cup match against South Africa, Shadab took his 50th wicket in ODIs.
In June 2020, Shadab was among the players selected for Pakistan's tour to England. However, he tested positive for COVID-19 and had to self-isolate. He later recovered and was shortlisted for the Test matches against England. On 28 August 2020, in a T20I match against England, Shadab took his 50th wicket in that format.
In September 2021, Shadab was named the vice-captain of Pakistan's team. This was for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. On 27 March 2023, he achieved a big milestone. He took his 100th T20I wicket against Afghanistan. This made him the first male cricketer from Pakistan to take 100 wickets in T20Is.
In May 2024, Shadab was again named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament.
