In his final year, he was recognized as the American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. This award showed he was great at both sports and academics. He averaged 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He also kept a good grade-point average. Shaquille is the only player in Tulsa's history to get over 1,300 points, 400 assists, and 200 steals.
