Sharavyn Gungaadorj (born May 2, 1935) is a politician from Mongolia. He was the 14th Prime Minister of Mongolia for a short time in 1990. The Prime Minister is the head of the government in Mongolia.

Sharavyn Gungaadorj's Early Life and Career
Sharavyn Gungaadorj was born in 1935 in a place called Ikhkhet, which is in the Dornogovi Province of Mongolia. He went to college in Moscow, Russia, and finished his studies in 1959. He studied agriculture, which is about farming and growing food.
Working in Agriculture and Government
After college, Gungaadorj worked in different jobs related to farming. From 1967 to 1968, he worked for the main committee of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (PMRP). Later, he became a deputy minister in the agriculture department. This meant he helped lead the country's farming efforts.
In 1980, he became the first deputy minister for state farms. These were large farms owned by the government. In 1981, he took on an important role in the Selenge Province for the Mongolian People's Party. By 1986, he was made the Minister of Agriculture. This was a very important job, as he was in charge of all farming and food production for the whole country.
Becoming Prime Minister of Mongolia
Before he became Prime Minister, Gungaadorj was a member of the State Great Khural. This is like Mongolia's parliament, where laws are made. He represented the people from Selenge Province. He also advised the President of Mongolia.
Leading the Government in 1990
From 1987 until March 1990, Gungaadorj was both a deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry. In March 1990, there were many public protests in Mongolia. Because of these protests, the government leaders, including the Prime Minister at the time, Dumaagiin Sodnom, all resigned.
After this, Sharavyn Gungaadorj became the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. This is another name for the Prime Minister. He led the government for a short time, from March 21 to September 11, 1990. His job was to guide the country until the first free elections could be held later that year.
After Being Prime Minister
After his time as Prime Minister, Gungaadorj continued to serve his country.
Diplomatic and Political Roles
In 1992, he became an ambassador for Mongolia. An ambassador is someone who represents their country in another country. He was an ambassador to Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) and later to Kazakhstan.
He returned to the Mongolian parliament (the State Great Khural) from 2000 to 2004. During this time, he also led a special committee focused on the environment and rural development. He did not run for parliament again in 2004. In 2009, he worked as an advisor to the Minister of Environment and Tourism.
Education and Later Career
Sharavyn Gungaadorj has a special degree called a PhD in agricultural sciences. He is also a member of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, which is a group of very smart people who do research. He is married and has three children.
Since 1997, Gungaadorj has been the managing director of a company called "Agropro." This company likely works in the agriculture business.
