Sharon Morgan was born on August 29, 1949. She is a talented Welsh actress who has performed in many plays, movies, and TV shows. She grew up in the village of Llandyfaelog and now lives in Cardiff. Sharon is well-known for her work in Welsh films and television. She has won three BAFTA Cymru awards, which are special awards for film and TV in Wales.

About Sharon Morgan's Life
Sharon Morgan grew up in Glanamman, Carmarthenshire. Her father was a headmaster, and her mother was a drama teacher. When she was young, Sharon wasn't sure if she could become an actress. However, her parents always supported her dream.
Before becoming an actress, Sharon studied history at Cardiff University in the 1960s. After that, she trained to be a stage actress. Sharon has two children, Stephan (born around 1979) and Saran (born around 1995). For most of her acting career, she balanced her work with being a single parent. She once said that she managed with the help of friends.
Sharon is a strong supporter of the Welsh language. She speaks Welsh, which is her first language, as well as English and French. Sharon believes it's important to stay active as you get older. She looks up to actress Helen Mirren as an example for older women.
Sharon Morgan's Acting Career
Sharon Morgan started acting in the 1970s. Since then, she has appeared in many TV shows, movies, and plays. She performs in both English and Welsh. The Welsh newspaper Western Mail called her "one of the most respected actors of her generation."
Some of her famous roles include Professor Margaret Edwards in A Mind to Kill from 1994 to 2002. She also played Stella Craven in Mine All Mine (2004), which was written by Russell T Davies.
TV Shows and Films
Sharon has been in many other TV shows. She had a main role in the BBC drama series Belonging. She also had a regular part in Doctors. You might have seen her in other UK shows like Midsomer Murders, Casualty, Coronation Street, Caerdydd, Pobol y Cwm, and Alys.
In 2002, Sharon played Kath in the short comedy film Pleasure Pill. In 2008, she starred as Martha in the S4C drama Martha, Jac a Sianco. She called this film "culturally important." It showed a strong picture of farm life in Wales. Sharon won her second BAFTA Cymru award for best actress for her role as Martha. She had won her first for Tair Chwaer in 1998.
Sharon also became well-known for her role as Mary Cooper in Torchwood. Mary Cooper is the mother of the main character, Gwen Cooper. Sharon first appeared in Torchwood in 2008. She returned for six more episodes in 2011 for Torchwood: Miracle Day.
Later in 2011, Sharon played Maggie Jones in Resistance. This movie was based on a novel by Owen Sheers. Sharon's work in Resistance earned her another nomination for best actress at the BAFTA Cymru awards. She won the award on September 30, 2012.
In September 2012, Sharon joined the cast of Hollyoaks Later, playing Nana Flo. She also appeared as Sister Albina in the US drama series Da Vinci's Demons.
Stage Performances
Sharon has also performed on stage. One of her stage roles was in the National Theatre Wales play A Good night out in the Valleys. This play was first performed in 2010.
