Shauna Robertson (born December 18, 1974) is a Canadian film producer. She is known for helping to create many popular comedy movies. From 1999 to 2008, she often worked with director and producer Judd Apatow.

Robertson helped produce several hit films. These include Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), and Superbad (2007). She also produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) and Pineapple Express (2008).

Early Life and Starting Her Career

Robertson grew up in Markham, Ontario, a city in Canada. She said that having relaxed parents helped her become a producer. "It's good early training to have an incredibly irresponsible family," she explained. "It forces a young person to take responsibility, to be organized." Her mother even called her "the benevolent dictator" because she liked things to be done well and on time.

At age 16, Robertson decided to leave high school and move to Los Angeles, California, to start her career in the film industry.

Career in Filmmaking

In Los Angeles, Robertson began working as an assistant for producer and actor Mike Binder. She had met him at a summer camp in Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada. After working with Binder, she went on to assist other important people in Hollywood, including Hart Bochner, Jay Roach, and Adam McKay.

Her work with Adam McKay on the movie Elf was a major step in her career. On the set of that film, she met actor Will Ferrell. Ferrell later introduced her to director-producer Judd Apatow while they were making Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

This led to a successful partnership with Apatow. Together, they produced many successful comedies. Robertson played an important role in shaping the humor in these films. Actor Jonah Hill, who worked with her, said that Robertson had a great sense of humor and often came up with very funny ideas.

Personal Life

Robertson began dating American actor Edward Norton. After being together for six years, they got engaged in 2011. The couple married in 2012. They have one son, who was born in March 2013.
