Shengzhou (Chinese: 嵊州; pinyin: Shèngzhōu) is a city in China. It is located in the central part of Zhejiang province. Shengzhou is south of the Hangzhou Bay. It is also part of the larger city of Shaoxing.
The city was once known as Shengxian or Sheng County. You can drive to the provincial capital, Hangzhou, in about 1.5 hours. This trip uses the Hangzhou-Ningbo and Shangyu-Sanmen Expressways. In 2020, about 675,226 people lived in Shengzhou. However, if you include the nearby Xinchang County, the total population in the built-up area was over 1 million people.
