Rabbi Wosner's Life Story

Shmuel Wosner was born in Vienna, which was part of Austro-Hungary at the time. He studied at a famous school called Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva in Poland. His main teacher there was Rabbi Meir Shapiro. He also learned from Rabbi Shimon of Zelicov.

Before the Holocaust began, he moved to Palestine. He settled in Jerusalem and continued his studies at the Dushinsky yeshiva. Even when he was young, he became a member of the Edah HaChareidis, a group of important Jewish leaders.

Later, he moved to Bnei Brak. Other important rabbis, like the Chazon Ish, encouraged him to do so. In Bnei Brak, he started a neighborhood called Zichron Meir. He also opened a yeshiva there, giving it the same name as his old school: Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin.
