Shohreh (born Fatemeh Solati Nayebi on January 4, 1957) is a famous Iranian singer. She has been a big part of the pop music world for almost 60 years! Shohreh has released 32 albums and sung about 300 songs. Her brother, Shahram Solati, is also a well-known Iranian singer.

Shohreh was born in Tehran, Iran. When she was just seven years old, she found her love for music. With her family's help, she went to the National Conservatory of Music. There, she learned to sing and play instruments like the piano, flute, and clarinet.

Shohreh's Music Journey

Early Career Before the Revolution

When Shohreh was 15, she became very interested in performing. Her first song was Dokhtar-e Mashreghi. This song helped her start her music career. She became even more famous with her song To Ke Nisti.

Before the Iranian Revolution, Shohreh worked with many talented people. She appeared on a popular TV show called Mikhak-e Nogreh several times.

Shohreh also tried acting! She was in a movie called Faryad Zire Ab. She even sang a song for another movie that was never finished. In 1977, she helped host a TV show called Setareh-ye Baran.

In September 1978, just before the Islamic Revolution, Shohreh went to the United States for a concert. Because of the big changes happening in Iran, she stayed there. She first lived in New York and then moved to Los Angeles.

Life and Music After the Revolution

After the revolution, Shohreh stayed in the United States. She got married and had a daughter named Tannaz. Later, she and her husband divorced.

Shohreh is known as one of the most successful Iranian female singers. She has recorded around 300 songs and released 32 albums. For the past five decades, she has been a very important person in Iranian pop music. She was one of the most popular female singers in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Shohreh always tries to choose the best lyrics and melodies for her songs.

Music in the 1980s

Her first song recorded in Los Angeles was Sargashteh. During the 1980s, she released albums like Telesm, Salam, Sheytoonak, Yeki Yekdooneh, and Marmar. Some popular songs from this time include Tolo, Salam, and Aroosi.

Music in the 1990s

The 1990s were a very popular time for a music style called "six-and-eight." Shohreh was one of the top artists in this style. Her hit song Aksasho Paareh Kardam came out during this period. Shohreh became even more famous with her upbeat "six-and-eight" songs. Albums like Seda-ye Pa, Hamnafas, and Jomeh be Jomeh had many of her big hits.

Music in the 2000s

In the 2000s, Shohreh started trying new music styles. She moved away from the "six-and-eight" sound. Instead, she focused on slower, trance, techno, and house music. During this time, she released five albums: Atr, Safar, Pishooni, Havas, and Ashegham.

Music from 2010 to Today

From 2010 until now, Shohreh has not released any new albums. This is because many artists started focusing on releasing single songs instead of full albums. She has recorded 40 single songs since 2009. She now works with many young and talented Iranian composers.
