Shojiro Sugimura (杉村 正二郎, Sugimura Shojiro, April 4, 1905 – January 15, 1975) was a Japanese football player. He was born on April 4, 1905, and passed away on January 15, 1975. He played as a Midfielder for the Japan national team. Sometimes, people knew him as Shojiro Nomura.

Sugimura's Early Football Days
Shojiro Sugimura was born in Osaka, Japan. He loved playing football from a young age. He attended Tennoji High School. Later, he continued his studies and played football at Waseda University.
After university, he joined a football club called Waseda WMW. This team was made up of players who had studied at Waseda University. He played alongside many talented players who also represented the Japan national team.
Playing for Japan's National Team
In August 1927, while still a student at Waseda University, Sugimura was chosen to play for the Japan national football team. This was a big honor for him. He joined the team for the 1927 Far Eastern Championship Games. This important competition took place in Shanghai.
On August 27, 1927, Shojiro Sugimura played his first game for Japan. He made his debut against the team from Republic of China. This was his only game for the national team.
Life After Football
After he stopped playing football, Shojiro Sugimura continued to be involved in the sport. He joined the Japan Football Association. There, he worked as a director, helping to guide football in Japan.
Sugimura also had a career in education. He worked for the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. He also became a professor at Sophia University, where he taught students.
