Sidown Hill is a cool place in Hampshire, England. It stands about 255 meters (or 837 feet) tall. This makes it the third highest hill in the whole county!
What's at the Top?
Right at the very top of Sidown Hill, there's an old building called Heaven's Gate. It was built in the middle of the 1700s. It's a special building, protected as a 'Grade II listed building.' This means it's an important historical place. The trees around the top of the hill keep it a bit hidden.
Where is Sidown Hill?
Sidown Hill is part of a bigger area called the Hampshire Downs. It sits on a "watershed." This is like an invisible line on the ground. Rain that falls on one side of the line flows into one river system. Rain on the other side flows into a different one. To the east of Sidown Hill, you can see Beacon Hill, which is a bit taller at 261 meters (856 feet).
A Look Back: The 1945 Plane Crash
