The Sierra de Cayey is a cool mountain range found on the main island of Puerto Rico. It's located in the southeastern part of the island. These mountains aren't super tall, reaching heights of about 1,000 meters (or 3,280 feet) at most.

Many important rivers in Puerto Rico start in the Sierra de Cayey. For example, the Grande de Loíza River, which is one of the biggest rivers on the island, begins here in the area of San Lorenzo. Another river, the La Plata River, flows through the beautiful Cayey Valley. The town of Cayey is also located in this valley, on the northern side of the mountains. Farmers in this area grow crops like tobacco and coffee.
