About Sigma Alimentos
In 2021, Sigma sold about $6.9 billion worth of food. The company has 67 factories and 152 places where they send out food (called distribution centers). More than 38,000 people work for Sigma in 18 different countries.
Growing the Company
Sigma has grown a lot by buying other companies. This helped them become bigger in the United States and Europe. For example, they bought an American company called Bar-S in 2010. In 2014, they bought a European company called Campofrio.
Where Sigma Sells Its Products
In Mexico, Sigma sells its products in many places. You can find them in big supermarkets, smaller local shops, and convenience stores.
In the United States, Sigma operates through two main parts: Sigma Foods and Bar-S Foods. Their main office in the U.S. is in Phoenix, Arizona.
In Europe, Sigma works through a company called Campofrío. Sigma's parent company, Alfa, bought Campofrío together with a Chinese company called WH Group in 2014. Later, in June 2015, Alfa bought the rest of Campofrío from WH Group. This meant Sigma could fully own Campofrío.
