Simon Solomon Webbe (born 30 March 1978) is a British singer and rapper. He is famous for being a member of the boy band Blue. The band has sold over 15 million records worldwide. Simon also released three solo albums in 2005, 2006, and 2017. He had five songs that reached the UK Top 40 charts.

Simon Webbe's Early Life and Music Career

Simon Webbe was born on March 30, 1978. His parents come from the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Joining the Band Blue

Simon Webbe became a member of the boy band Blue. The band released their first song, "All Rise", in May 2001. It quickly reached number 4 on the UK music charts.

Their second song, "Too Close", came out in August. It was a cover of a popular US song and went straight to number 1. Blue had another number 1 hit in November with "If You Come Back". These songs were part of their first album, All Rise. This album was released for Christmas and also reached number 1. It sold over 1.8 million copies in the UK.

In March 2002, Blue's fourth song, "Fly By II", reached number 6.

Blue's Second Album: One Love

Blue's second album, One Love, came out in 2002. It debuted at number 1 in the UK. Three songs were released from this album. "One Love" reached number 3. "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word", which featured the famous singer Elton John, went to number 1. The song "U Make Me Wanna" reached number 4.

Blue's Third Album: Guilty

The album Guilty and its title song were released in late 2003. The song reached number 2 in the UK. Other songs from this album included "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" (sung with Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone), "Breathe Easy", and "Bubblin'". The Guilty album sold more than one million copies in the UK.

After a few years, the band decided to take a break. They released a "greatest hits" album called Best of Blue in 2004. This album included their popular songs and some new ones like "Curtain Falls".

Simon's Solo Music Career

Simon Webbe started his solo career in August 2005. His first solo song, "Lay Your Hands", reached number 4 on the UK charts. His next song, "No Worries", also reached number 4. This made him the only member of Blue to have more than one song in the Top 10 as a solo artist.

After these songs, Simon released his first solo album, Sanctuary. It reached number 7 on the UK Albums Chart and sold very well. The third song from Sanctuary, "After All This Time", was released in February 2006. It reached number 16.

Simon's Second Album: Grace

In October 2006, Simon released "Coming Around Again". This was the first song from his second album. It reached number 12 in the UK. His second album, Grace, came out in November 2006. It reached number 11 on the UK Albums Chart.

The second song from Grace, "My Soul Pleads for You", was released in February 2007. In May 2007, Simon started his first concert tour to support his Grace album. He performed 18 shows across the UK. He also released the song "Grace" as a double song with "Ride the Storm", which was a theme song for the movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Blue Reunites and TV Appearances

In 2008, Simon Webbe took part in the TV reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He finished in fifth place.

In April 2009, the band Blue announced that they had reunited. They planned to release a new album and perform together again.

From May to August 2010, Simon acted in the musical Sister Act the musical in London. He played the role of Curtis Shank.

Blue represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany. They finished 11th in the competition.

In November 2011, Simon Webbe joined the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. He danced the Cha Cha Cha and scored 36 out of 40 points.

In August 2014, Simon was a contestant on the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing. He and his dance partner, Kristina Rihanoff, were runners-up in the competition.

In August 2015, he performed in a family musical called The 3 Little Pigs. He played the role of the Big Bad Wolf.

New Music and 20th Anniversary

In July 2017, Simon Webbe announced his third solo album, Smile. It was released in October 2017.

In November 2021, Blue confirmed they would go on a tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary. They also said they were recording new music.

In April 2022, Blue announced their sixth album, Heart & Soul. It was released in September 2022. They released the song "Haven't Found You Yet" and a cover of the song "Dance with Me".

Simon Webbe's Family Life

Simon Webbe has a daughter named Alanah, who was born in 1996. She is the inspiration for his 2007 song "Grace". Simon is also a distant cousin of Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan. His brother, Duane Bryan, was a contestant on the TV show The Apprentice in 2012.
