The History of Slammiversary
Slammiversary has a special history as one of TNA's most important shows. It marks the company's birthday each year. Over time, it has featured many exciting matches and moments.
The King of the Mountain Match
A very special match at Slammiversary was the King of the Mountain match. This was a unique five-person match. It was like a reverse ladder match. In this match, wrestlers had to climb a ladder to hang a championship belt.
This match was first used for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Later, it was for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The King of the Mountain match first appeared on June 2, 2004. It was part of TNA's weekly shows in Nashville, Tennessee.
This special match was a big part of every Slammiversary event until 2010. It made a comeback in 2015. That year, it was used to crown the first-ever TNA King of the Mountain Championship.
