About Slender Yelloweyed Grass
The slender yelloweyed grass is a type of plant that comes back year after year. This means it's a perennial herb. It can grow quite tall, with its main stem reaching up to 100 centimeters (about 40 inches). That's almost as tall as some kids!
What Does It Look Like?
This plant has long, thin leaves. They can be up to 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) long. Imagine a ruler and then double it! But even though they are long, the leaves are very narrow, usually less than 5 millimeters (about 0.2 inches) wide. They also have a cool twisted shape.
Where Does It Grow?
You can find the slender yelloweyed grass in many different states across the United States. It grows from New Hampshire in the northeast all the way down to Georgia in the southeast. If you travel west, you might spot it in places like Minnesota, Nebraska, and eastern Texas. It really gets around!
