Anthony Johnson, known by his stage name Slim the Mobster, is an American rapper. He signed with Gang Module Records. Slim the Mobster became known as a talented artist supported by the famous music producer Dr. Dre. His manager, John Monopoly, also helped start the music career of Kanye West. Slim the Mobster was inspired by other rap artists like The D.O.C and The Notorious B.I.G. He chose his rap name from a well-known person named Fillmore Slim and because he wanted to have a strong, determined attitude.

Slim The Mobster grew up in many different places, from Loudonville, NY to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Music Career Highlights
In February 2008, Slim the Mobster was featured on a music collection by Hussein Fatal. He shared his demo songs with Dr. Dre in 2008. This led to him getting a record deal with Aftermath Entertainment. Dr. Dre also asked Eminem and 50 Cent if they would like to work with Slim. They agreed, and he officially signed with Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit Records.
Working on New Music
Slim The Mobster started working on Dr. Dre's album Detox in 2009. This included the song "Kush".
War Music Album Release
His first album was called War Music. It was supported by Crooks & Castles. War Music had ten original songs. Some of these songs were "Whose House?", "What Goes Up", and "Back Against the Wall". Besides Slim's own rapping, other artists also appeared on the album. These included Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Prodigy, and Nikki Grier. Famous producers like Dr. Dre, Jake One, Bink, Sid Roams, and Siege Monstracity worked on the album's music. The album was produced by Sha Money XL and first presented by DJ Whoo Kid.
S.O.O.N. (Something Out of Nothing)
His next album, S.O.O.N. (Something Out Of Nothing), was planned to be released on August 21, 2012. Many artists contributed to this album. These included Xzibit, King Tee, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay Rock, Busta Rhymes, and Big K.R.I.T.. In 2012, he left Aftermath Entertainment. He then planned to release S.O.O.N. (Something Out Of Nothing) through Gang Module.
