Anthony Johnson, known by his stage name Slim the Mobster, is an American rapper. He signed with Gang Module Records. Slim The Mobster became known as a protégé of Dr. Dre, meaning Dr. Dre helped guide his career. Johnson's manager is John Monopoly, who also helped start Kanye West's rapping career. Artists like The D.O.C and The Notorious B.I.G influenced his music. He chose his stage name, Slim The Mobster, inspired by the artist Fillmore Slim and a strong, determined mindset.

Early Life and Beginnings
Slim The Mobster grew up in different places, from Loudonville, NY to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Music Career
In February 2008, Slim The Mobster was featured on a mixtape by Hussein Fatal. He sent his demo recordings to the famous producer Dr. Dre in 2008. This led to him getting a record deal with Aftermath Entertainment. Dr. Dre then spoke with Eminem and 50 Cent, who agreed to sign Slim. This meant he officially joined Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit Records.
Working with Dr. Dre
Starting in 2009, Slim The Mobster began working on Dr. Dre's album called Detox. This work included the song "Kush".
War Music Album
In 2011, Slim The Mobster released his first album, War Music. This album had ten original songs, including "Whose House?", "What Goes Up", and "Back Against the Wall". Many other artists joined him on the album, such as Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Prodigy, and Nikki Grier. The music was produced by talented people like Dr. Dre, Jake One, Nottz, and Bink. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Sha Money XL were the executive producers for the album.
Future Plans: S.O.O.N. (Something Out of Nothing)
His next album was planned to be called S.O.O.N. (Something Out Of Nothing). It was supposed to be released on August 21, 2012, under Aftermath Entertainment. Many well-known artists were set to appear on this album, including Xzibit, King Tee, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay Rock, Busta Rhymes, and Big K.R.I.T.. In 2012, he left Aftermath Entertainment. He then planned to release S.O.O.N. (Something Out Of Nothing) through Gang Module.
