Smithville is found in McCurtain County. It is just east of U.S. Route 259. You can also find it on Oklahoma Route 4. The town is located north of the Mountain Fork River. It is also about 10 miles north of Broken Bow Lake. Smithville is one of several towns in the southeastern part of Oklahoma. This area is often called Little Dixie.
