Solidarity Szczecin–Goleniów Airport (in Polish: Port Lotniczy Szczecin–Goleniów im. NSZZ Solidarność) (IATA: SZZ, ICAO: EPSC) is a major airport in Poland. It helps people travel to and from the city of Szczecin. The airport is about 45 kilometers (28 miles) northeast of Szczecin, close to the town of Goleniów. It is located in the village of Glewice. About 1.6 million people live in the area this airport serves.

Airport History
Building the Airport
This airport was built between 1953 and 1956. This was during a time called the Cold War. It was first made as a military airport. It had a runway that was 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) long and 45 meters (148 feet) wide. It also had basic airport buildings like hangars and an air traffic control tower.
In 1967, the civilian airport from Dąbie moved to this spot. It was then named Port Lotniczy Szczecin–Goleniów. Later, in 1976 and 1977, the runway was made longer, reaching 2,500 meters (8,200 feet). A new building for passengers, called an terminal, was also built.
Growing Up
The airport kept getting better in the 1990s. In 1998, the runway and the main area where planes park (called the apron) were improved. The airport's electricity and lights for the runway were updated in 1999.
A brand new passenger terminal opened in 2001. More work to make the terminal bigger started in 2005. A new air traffic control tower began being built in 2004 and was finished by the end of 2005. The terminal expansion was completed in April 2006. At that time, the airport was renamed to honor the Solidarność trade union.
In July 2013, a new 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) train track was opened. This track connected the airport to the main railway line between Szczecin and Kołobrzeg. This made it possible to travel directly by train between the airport and Szczecin. There are usually three trains a day (two on Saturdays) that go between Szczecin and the airport using this new track.

Getting Around
By Train
The airport has train connections to cities like Szczecin (including Szczecin Główny railway station and Szczecin Dąbie railway station), Goleniów, Gryfice, and Kołobrzeg. A train ride from Szczecin to the airport takes about 45 minutes. From Kołobrzeg, it takes about 90 minutes.
By Road
The airport is about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Szczecin by taxi. This trip usually takes about 45 minutes. You can use the S3 and A6 roads. There are also affordable buses that go to the city after planes arrive.
