Solis is a small community in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially set up as one.

In 2020, about 722 people lived in Solis. It's part of a larger area that includes the cities of Brownsville and Harlingen.

Where is Solis?

Solis is located in the western part of Cameron County. It's west of the city of La Feria. The community is split into two parts, a northern and a southern section. These parts are separated by the city limits of La Feria.

The main highway, Interstate 2 (also known as U.S. Route 83), runs west of La Feria's center. Solis is next to another community called Ratamosa to the north. Harlingen is about 10 miles (16 km) to the east. McAllen is about 25 miles (40 km) to the west, easily reached by I-2.

The total area of Solis is about 4.2 square kilometers (1.6 square miles). A very small part of this area, about 0.03 square kilometers (0.01 square miles), is water.
