Solomon Jones III (born July 16, 1984) is a former American basketball player. He played as a power forward and center. Solomon is 6 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 235 pounds during his playing career.
He played college basketball at Daytona State College for two years. Then, he played for the University of South Florida for another two years. In 2006, the Atlanta Hawks picked him in the 2006 NBA draft. He was the 33rd player chosen overall.

Solomon Jones' Basketball Journey
Starting in the NBA
Solomon Jones began his professional career with the Atlanta Hawks. As a rookie, he played in 58 games. He averaged about 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He spent three seasons with the Hawks. After that, he signed a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers.
Moving to Different Teams
Solomon's career involved playing for several teams. In 2012, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers. He was later released from the team. Soon after, he signed a short 10-day contract with the New Orleans Hornets. He even signed a second 10-day contract with them.
Later in 2012, Jones joined the Phoenix Suns, but he was released before the season started. In 2013, he played for the Liaoning Flying Leopards in China. He then signed with the New York Knicks for a short time.
Later Career and Other Leagues
In September 2013, Solomon signed with the Orlando Magic. He played with them until January 2014. After leaving the Magic, he joined the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League. He also played for Changsha Bank Guangdong in China.
In 2015, he signed with the Chicago Bulls, but he was released before the season began. In 2017, he played for the Oklahoma City Blue.
Solomon Jones also played for the Mexican team Tijuana Zonkeys in 2020. His time there was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he returned to play for the Tijuana Zonkeys again in 2022.
The Basketball Tournament
In 2017, Solomon Jones played in The Basketball Tournament. This is a special basketball competition. He was part of the Tampa Bulls team, which was made up of players who went to the University of South Florida. His team played very well and made it to the "Sweet 16" round. They lost to the team that eventually won the whole tournament, called Overseas Elite.
