Sonia Couling (born June 18, 1974, in Bangkok, Thailand), also known as Pim, is a famous Thai model, actress, and TV star. She has been in many Thai movies and TV shows. Sonia was a VJ (video jockey) for MTV Asia and a host for HBO Asia. She also produced and hosted Thailand's Next Top Model in 2005. Sonia has even acted in movies made in Hollywood and France. She has both English and Thai family roots.

Her Early Life
Sonia Couling is what people call "Eurasian" or "Luk khrueng" in Thailand. This means she has a mixed background, with an English father and a Thai mother. She can speak Thai, English, and French very well. She also knows some German and Italian.
Sonia went to an all-girls boarding school in Surrey, England. Later, she studied German literature at University College London. In 1998, she earned a degree in International Business from the European Business School London.
Her Career
Sonia started modeling when she was just 13 years old. Her first job was for a Seven Up advertisement. While she was studying in the UK, she worked with a modeling agency in London.
When she came back to Asia, she became a top model. She was the face of many beauty brands across Asia, like L'Oreal and Olay. She was also the first Asian Ambassador for Rado watches.
In 1998, Sonia became a VJ for MTV Asia in Singapore. This made her the first Thai woman to have that role. In 2002, she won the Best Actress award at the TV Gold Awards for her role in the TV series Maya.
Sonia also works behind the scenes as a producer. She produced the TV show Thailand's Next Top Model in 2005. She was also an executive producer for the international movie A Stranger in Paradise in 2013.
She has starred in international movies and TV shows too. These include The Mark, The Mark: Redemption, and Strike Back : Legacy. In 2018, she was a mentor on The Face Thailand season 4 All Stars and The Face Men Thailand (season 2). She was also a producer for The Next Boy/Girl Band Thailand.
The Face of Muay Thai
Sonia Couling is a well-known international celebrity in Thailand. She has been chosen to represent Muay Thai, which is a traditional Thai martial art.
Sonia knows a lot about Muay Thai. She was an English announcer for "Jao Muay Thai Fight" on Thai TV3 for three years. She also hosted the King's Cup and Queen's Cup Muay Thai events in 2010. She was a ring announcer for The Challenger Muay Thai in 2011 and hosted Muay Thai Premier League in 2012.
Her Personal Life
Sonia Couling married Paul-Dominique Vacharasinthu in 2007. He is Thai-French. They have a son named Pasha-Dominic Vacharasinthu, who was born in 2015.
Sonia enjoys flying single-engine planes. She is also a reserve pilot for the Royal Thai Air Force. There, she was a guest pilot on F5 and F16 fighter planes. She also loves riding horses and plays polo.
