About Sophie Hannah
Sophie Hannah was born in Manchester, England. Her mother, Adèle Geras, is also a writer. Sophie went to Beaver Road Primary School and the University of Manchester.
She has held special positions at famous universities. From 1997 to 1999, she was a Fellow Commoner in Creative Arts at Trinity College, Cambridge. This means she was a visiting scholar who could use the college's facilities. Later, from 1999 to 2001, she was a junior research fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford. This role allowed her to do research.
In 2024, she became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. This is a special honor for writers in the UK. Sophie lives in Cambridge with her husband and two children. She is also an Honorary Fellow at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge.
