South Arm Peninsula facts for kids

The South Arm Peninsula is a piece of land that sticks out into the water on the east side of the River Derwent. It's located south of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia. This peninsula starts near Lauderdale and then curves inwards. It connects to the mainland by a narrow strip of land called an isthmus. On the east side of the Derwent, you'll find the town of South Arm, which is right across from Blackmans Bay on the river's west side. The northernmost town on the peninsula's curve is Opossum Bay.

Where is the South Arm Peninsula?

The South Arm Peninsula is like a natural border for a few different bays. To its west, you'll find Ralphs Bay. To the south, there's Storm Bay, which is a much larger body of water. On the east side of the peninsula is Frederick Henry Bay, which separates it from the Tasman Peninsula. This entire area, including the South Arm Peninsula, is part of the City of Clarence.
