History of Spickard
Spickard started out with a different name: Spickardsville. It was founded in 1871 by a person named G. A. Spickard, and the town was named after him. A post office opened in Spickardsville in 1872. Later, in 1892, the town's name was shortened to just Spickard.
Where is Spickard?
Spickard is located in Missouri, about 1.5 miles south of the line that separates Grundy and Mercer counties. You can find it along Missouri Route C, just west of U.S. Route 65. The Weldon River also flows nearby.
The United States Census Bureau says that the city covers an area of about 0.63 square miles (1.64 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
