Where is Spring Valley Located?
Spring Valley is located in western Wisconsin. It sits right next to the Eau Galle River. The village covers an area of about 4.5 square miles (11.2 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.

Explore Crystal Cave
Just a short distance southwest of Spring Valley, you can find Crystal Cave. This amazing cave was formed millions of years ago. Groundwater slowly wore away the rock underground. A 16-year-old discovered an opening to the cave in 1881. It has been open for visitors since 1942. When it first opened, 4,000 people came to see it! Today, you can still visit and learn about its interesting geological history.
Visit Eau Galle Dam and Lake George
Northwest of Spring Valley is the Eau Galle Dam. This is known as the Midwest's largest earthen dam. It was built in 1965 by the Army Corps of Engineers. The dam helps protect Spring Valley from floods from the Eau Galle River. A fun recreation area has grown around the dam's lake, which is called Lake George. It's a great spot for outdoor activities.
