Springbrook is a small community, often called a hamlet, located in central Alberta, Canada. It's found within Red Deer County. This friendly place is also recognized by Statistics Canada as a special "designated place" for counting its population.
Where is Springbrook?
Springbrook is located just 1 kilometer (about half a mile) west of Highway 2A. It's about 11 kilometers (7 miles) southwest of the city of Red Deer. You can also find it about 6 kilometers (4 miles) north of Penhold.
A Bit of History
Springbrook used to be home to the Penhold Air Cadet Summer Training Centre (PACSTC). This center was a place where young people could learn about aviation and leadership. Before it was the PACSTC, it was known as RCAF Station Penhold, which was a base for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
