Squaw Creek Reservoir is a large lake in Texas. It covers about 3,275 acres (13.3 square kilometers). You can find it between the towns of Glen Rose, Texas and Granbury, Texas.

This reservoir has a very important job. It helps cool down the Comanche Peak Nuclear Generating Station. This power plant uses a lot of water. When both parts of the plant are running, millions of gallons of water are pumped from the reservoir to cool the machinery.

The water in Squaw Creek Reservoir is usually clear. This makes it a great spot for fishing, especially for bass. The edges of the lake are mostly rocky.

History of Squaw Creek Reservoir

The reservoir was built by a company called TXU. They needed it to help cool the Comanche Peak power plant. Construction started in the 1970s. The lake began filling with water in 1979. It took two whole years for the reservoir to fill up completely.
