Stanley James Brock (born June 8, 1958) is a former American football player and coach. He played as a tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers.
Brock played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes. He was chosen in the first round of the 1980 NFL Draft. After he stopped playing, he became a head football coach. He coached at the United States Military Academy from 2007 to 2008.

Playing Football
Stan Brock was a strong player in both college and the NFL. He played a position called offensive tackle. This role helps protect the quarterback and clear paths for running backs.
College Football Days
Brock played football at Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon. After high school, he went to the University of Colorado at Boulder. There, he played for the Colorado Buffaloes team.
In 1979, he was named an All-American by The Sporting News. This means he was one of the best college players in the country. He also won the John Mack Award, which is given to Colorado's best offensive player.
Playing in the NFL
Brock started his professional career with the New Orleans Saints. He played for them from 1980 to 1992. He then joined the San Diego Chargers and played there from 1993 to 1995.
He even played in a championship game called Super Bowl XXIX with the Chargers. Stan's older brother, Pete, also played in the NFL. Pete played for the New England Patriots.
In 1997, Stan Brock was honored by the Saints. He was put into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame.
Coaching Career
After his time as a player, Brock became a coach. He coached in the Arena Football League (AFL). He was the head coach for the Portland Forest Dragons from 1997 to 1999. Then, he coached the Los Angeles Avengers from 2000 to 2001.
He also worked as a radio announcer for Saints games. He would explain the game action to listeners.
Coaching at Army
On January 29, 2007, Brock became the head coach for the Army Black Knights football team. This is the team for the United States Military Academy.
During his two years as head coach, Army had a record of 6 wins and 18 losses. He was let go from his coaching job on December 12, 2008.
The "Brock Bone" Offense
After his first season, Coach Brock and his team decided to try a new way of playing offense. They created a new system that some people called "the Brock Bone." This offense focused a lot on running the ball with the fullback.
Brock explained that they would run the ball this way if the opposing team allowed it. Army used this offense during the 2008 season.
Broadcasting and Family Life
After his coaching career, Stan Brock also worked in television.
Sports Anchor Role
On January 14, 2015, a TV station in Portland, Oregon called KOIN hired Brock. He worked there as a sports anchor, sharing sports news.

Stan Brock is married to Lori. They have four daughters together. Their names are Sarah, Jessica, Rachel, and Emily.
