Stanley Ernest Sulzmann, born on November 30, 1948, is a talented English jazz saxophone player. He has been making music since 1964. He is known for his amazing skills on the saxophone.

About Stan Sulzmann

Stan Sulzmann was born in London, England. He started playing the saxophone when he was 13 years old. In 1964, he joined Bill Ashton's London Youth Jazz Orchestra. This group later became the famous National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Stan studied music at the Royal Academy of Music from 1969 to 1972. In the 1970s, he played with many great musicians. These included the Clarke-Boland Big Band, Mike Gibbs, John Taylor, and Kenny Wheeler. He also worked with Gil Evans and Paul McCartney in the 1980s. He played with big groups like the James Last Orchestra and the NDR Big Band.

A lot of people around the world have heard Stan play without even knowing it! He was the saxophone soloist for "The Belgian Detective." This is the main theme music for the TV show Poirot. Christopher Gunning composed this famous music.

Besides playing, Stan has also taught music. He has been a teacher at the Guildhall School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, and Trinity College of Music.
