When Vaal sees the crew as a threat, it orders the people to attack them. Captain Kirk and his team work together to stop Vaal. They destroy the machine, freeing the planet's inhabitants.

They reprogram the androids and leave Harry Mudd to deal with his robot servants.

A shuttle crew finds a lost person who turns out to be Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of warp drive! He was thought to be dead for 150 years. Captain Kirk, Spock, and Bones must figure out how to help Cochrane and the Companion, and get back to the Enterprise.

The Enterprise carries important leaders to a peace meeting. Spock's father, Sarek, is one of them. When another ambassador is killed, Sarek becomes the main suspect. Kirk and Bones find a way to help, while Kirk uncovers the real attacker.

Scotty finds a clever way to get rid of all the Tribbles.

He hopes to teach them a new way of life under the Federation's guidance.

The Enterprise encounters a giant, single-celled space organism that drains energy. It has already destroyed another starship. Kirk and Scotty then work together to destroy the creature, saving the galaxy.

Kirk must decide how to help Tyree's people defend themselves and restore balance.

The Enterprise receives a distress signal from a distant planet. They find powerful energy beings, Sargon, his wife, and another, who are trapped in machines. Kirk and Spock must stop this plan before it's too late.

Gill then gives a powerful speech to restore peace and fairness to the planet.

Beings from the Andromeda Galaxy take over the Enterprise. They want to use the ship to travel back to their home galaxy, a journey of 300 years. These aliens have taken human form but struggle with human emotions. Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty realize this is their chance. They challenge the aliens' emotions, causing confusion. This allows the crew to regain control of the Enterprise and help the aliens find a peaceful solution.

The Enterprise finds another starship, the USS Exeter, with its crew mysteriously gone. Kirk, Bones, and Spock discover a deadly virus on the planet below. They find Captain Tracey of the Exeter, who is fighting alongside one group of people. The landing party is imprisoned. Kirk and Captain Tracey are forced to fight to decide who is right. Kirk teaches the warring groups about peace and fairness, using a familiar document.

A new computer system, M5, is installed on the Enterprise to test if it can run the ship by itself. Dr. Richard Daystrom created M5. At first, it works perfectly. But then, M5 starts taking too much control and sees other ships as real threats. It accidentally destroys one ship and damages another during a training exercise. Captain Kirk must convince M5 that it has made a mistake and stop it before it causes more harm.

Captain Kirk, Spock, and Bones visit a planet that looks just like the ancient Roman Empire. Here, slaves are forced to fight as gladiators for entertainment. They must use their wits and teamwork to escape the arena and get beamed back to the Enterprise.

The Enterprise travels back in time to observe Earth in 1968. They accidentally beam aboard a mysterious man named Gary Seven. Gary is a human from the 20th century who was raised by advanced aliens. He seems to be trying to change history. Kirk and Spock follow him to Earth. They soon realize Gary is actually trying to help important events happen, not stop them, to protect Earth's future.


Home Media Releases

This season was released on DVD and Blu-ray by Paramount Home Entertainment. There are two main versions: an earlier one and a remastered one.

A DVD set was first released in 2004. Later, a remastered version came out on DVD. This newer version had updated special effects in some scenes and improved colors.

The Remastered DVD set also included special bonus features about the 'Tribbles'. These included episodes like "Trials and Tribblations" from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and "More Tribbles, More Troubles" from Star Trek: The Animated Series. The Remastered DVD set contained 8 DVD discs.
