Where is Stede Broec Located?

A Look at Stede Broec's History
The towns of Grootebroek and Bovenkarspel first received special "city rights" in 1364. This meant they had certain freedoms and rules, like a city. They were known together as Broek.
Later, in 1402, Lutjebroek also gained these city rights. The town of Hoogkarspel joined in 1403, and Andijk became the fifth town to join in 1786. However, in 1825, the city was split up into separate areas again.
