Stephen Laurel "tWitch" Boss (September 29, 1982 – December 13, 2022) was a famous American dancer, choreographer, actor, and TV personality. He was known for his amazing freestyle hip hop dancing. In 2008, he became very popular after finishing second on the TV show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD). Later, from 2014 to 2022, he was a regular guest host and co-producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He also appeared on Ellen's Game of Games. From 2018 to 2020, he and his wife, Allison Holker, hosted Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings.

Early life
Stephen Boss was born on September 29, 1982, in Montgomery, Alabama. His parents were Connie Boss Alexander and Sandford Rose. He finished high school at Lee High School in 2000. After that, he studied dance at Southern Union State Community College and Chapman University.
Career
Stephen Boss started his career in dance and television in the early 2000s. In 2003, he was a semifinalist on MTV's The Wade Robson Project. He was also a runner-up on the TV show Star Search. He created dance routines for famous K-pop singers like Seven. He also helped train other artists from YG Entertainment, including the group Big Bang.
Boss also appeared in movies. In 2007, he was a dancer in Blades of Glory and Hairspray. After his time on So You Think You Can Dance, he taught dance classes. He even performed a special dance with Allison Holker on Dancing with the Stars in 2013. They danced to "Crystallize" by Lindsey Stirling.
On April 1, 2014, Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a guest DJ. He later became a co-executive producer for the show in 2020. He also acted in movies like Magic Mike XXL, where he played a character named Malik. He was part of two dance groups called Breed OCLA and Chill Factor Crew.
So You Think You Can Dance
Stephen Boss tried out for So You Think You Can Dance in 2007 but didn't make it to the Top 20. He tried again in 2008 for Season 4. This time, he made it to the Top 20 and finished as the runner-up. The winner was another hip-hop dancer named Joshua Allen.
During Season 4, he performed a famous dance with Katee Shean. This dance was so good that it was nominated for an Emmy Award. He returned to the show many times as an "All-Star" dancer. He performed memorable routines, including a hip hop dance with ballet dancer Alex Wong. This dance was even performed by Ellen DeGeneres in a finale! In Season 12, he was the team captain for "Team Street." In 2022, he became a permanent judge for the show's seventeenth season.
Twitch and his wife, Allison Holker, also had their own clothing line. It was called "DSG x tWitch + Allison Collection" and sold at Dick's Sporting Goods.
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings is a TV show about couples who have Disney-themed weddings. It airs on Freeform and Disney+. The show takes you behind the scenes of weddings and engagements at Disney places. These include Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani in Hawaii.
In 2017, Freeform announced that Stephen Boss and Allison Holker would host a new series of the show. They also hosted a special holiday episode called "Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic." The second season of the show started on Disney+ in 2020.
Personal life
On December 10, 2013, Stephen Boss married fellow SYTYCD dancer Allison Holker. Their wedding took place at a vineyard in Paso Robles, California. Stephen also adopted Allison's daughter. They later had a son in March 2016 and another daughter in November 2019.
Death
Stephen Boss passed away on December 13, 2022, at the age of 40. His wife, Allison Holker, shared the sad news. Many famous people shared their sadness and paid tribute to him. These included actor Viola Davis, musician Questlove, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and actor Channing Tatum.
