Steve Passmore (born January 29, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the NHL for teams like the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Los Angeles Kings. Steve was known for his strong will and determination throughout his career.

Steve Passmore's Hockey Journey

Steve Passmore started his hockey journey in junior leagues. He played for the Victoria Cougars in the Western Hockey League. During the 1991–92 season, he set some impressive records for a goaltender. These included playing the most games and making the most saves in a single season.

Joining the NHL Teams

After his junior career, Steve was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. He later played for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings. He played 93 games in the NHL between 1998 and 2004.

Overcoming Challenges

Early in his career with the Oilers, Steve faced a serious health challenge. He was diagnosed with a condition that could have ended his hockey career. But Steve worked hard to recover. His amazing comeback showed his strong spirit and dedication.

Because of his incredible return to the game, Steve was nominated for the Masterton Trophy in 2000. This award celebrates players who show great sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

Playing in Europe

After his time in the NHL, Steve played hockey in Europe. He joined teams like Adler Mannheim in Germany and Jokerit in Finland. He also played for the Graz 99ers in Austria and the Milano Vipers in Italy. He finished his professional hockey career in 2007.

Steve Passmore now lives in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
