Early Life
Steven Raichlen was born in Nagoya, Japan. He grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States.
Education and Training
Steven went to Reed College and studied French literature. After college, he received special grants to study cooking. He learned about old cooking methods in Europe. He also trained at famous cooking schools in Paris, like Le Cordon Bleu.
Writing Books
Since 1998, Steven Raichlen has written many books about grilling. His books teach people how to barbecue food from different cultures. He has written 31 books, and they have been translated into 17 languages.
