Stewart Creek is a small waterway, also known as a stream, located in the southern part of Missouri, United States. It flows through parts of Douglas and Christian counties. This creek is an important natural feature of the area, providing water and habitat for local wildlife.

Where is Stewart Creek?

Stewart Creek begins in the northwestern part of Douglas County, Missouri. Its starting point, called the headwaters, is found north of a community named Dogwood. From there, the creek flows generally towards the southwest.

The Creek's Journey

As Stewart Creek travels, it crosses a road known as Missouri Route Z. After this, it moves into Christian County, just west of Dogwood. The creek then turns west and flows past the small community of Abadyl. This area is northeast of another place called Bruner.

The creek then changes direction again, turning northwest. It flows alongside a road that shares its name, Stewart Creek Road. Its journey ends when it joins with another stream called Finley Creek. This meeting point is known as a confluence.

How Did Stewart Creek Get Its Name?

Stewart Creek was named after a local family who lived in the area. The Stewart family was well-known in the community, and the creek was named in their honor.
