Stoneybridge (which is Staoinebrig in Scottish Gaelic) is a small village. You can find it on the island of South Uist in Scotland.
Near the village, there is an ancient standing stone called Crois Chnoca Breaca. Standing stones are tall, upright stones that people placed long ago. We don't always know why they were put there, but they might have been for special ceremonies or as markers.
There was also a chapel near Stoneybridge, at a place called Ardmichael. This chapel was there before 1854. Today, only the burial ground remains at that spot.
Stoneybridge in TV Shows
A Scottish comedy TV show called Absolutely used the name Stoneybridge for a fictional village. In the show, they made fun of local politics. They showed how some local leaders might act like they have too much power.
The people who created the show didn't know there was a real Stoneybridge when they wrote the scripts! The Stoneybridge in the TV show was imagined to be in a different part of Scotland. It was described as being near a place called the Yetts o' Muckhart, which is in Clackmannanshire.
Getting to Stoneybridge
You can reach Stoneybridge by taking a small country road. This road branches off the main A865 road.
The road into Stoneybridge goes past a beautiful lake called Loch Ollay. After passing the loch, the road then joins back up with the A865.
