  • By 1908, the name became Stony Bottom. This name stuck because the area has many stones and rocks.

The Hunter Reunion Tradition

For many years, Stony Bottom was famous for a special event called the Hunter Reunion. This gathering happened every year on Labor Day. A local resident named Homer Hunter would invite hundreds of people from the community. They would all come together to enjoy traditional bluegrass music, delicious food, and good company. It was a time for friends and neighbors to connect and have fun.
