Stowupland is a village located about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Stowmarket in Suffolk, England. The name "Stowupland" means "a place on higher ground than Stowmarket." Long ago, the Saxons called the village "Ultuna." This name came from the many owls that lived in the woods where Holy Trinity Church now stands. The word 'Ul' meant owl.
Stowupland is home to Stowupland High School. The village has many useful places for its residents. These include a petrol station, a butcher's shop, and places to get food like a Chinese takeaway and a chip shop. There are also two pubs, The Crown and The Retreat.
Besides the High School, there is also Freeman Community Primary School. This primary school also has a pre-school attached to it.

Village Activities and Community
Stowupland has active sports clubs. You can find clubs for football, cricket, and bowls. The high school also has a gym and indoor sports facility. This facility was built with money from a lottery grant and is open for everyone to use.
The village uses a "Parish Plan" to help guide its future. This plan was created after a survey was sent to every home. It allows people living in Stowupland to have a say in how their village develops. One main goal of the plan is to keep Stowupland separate from the nearby town of Stowmarket. Stowmarket has grown a lot recently. Now, only one field separates homes in Stowmarket from those in Stowupland.
A free magazine called "The Telstar" is delivered to every house each month. It shares news from the local council and includes articles from residents, clubs, and churches in the village. Stowupland used to host a music event called "Music on The Green" every June. However, it was stopped because not enough people were interested, partly due to bad weather sometimes.
Roads and Location
The A1120 tourist route goes through the village. The larger A14 trunk road is just south of Stowupland.
