A14 road (Great Britain) facts for kids
The A14 is a really important road in England. It's like a main highway that helps connect different parts of the country. This road goes mostly from east to west. It stretches for about 127 miles (204 km) (which is around 204 kilometers).
The A14 starts at the big Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk. It then travels all the way to where two other major highways, the M1 and M6, meet near Rugby in Warwickshire. Along its journey, the A14 crosses an ancient road called Watling Street, which is now known as the A1.
This road is part of a bigger system called the Trans European Road Network. This means it's one of the key roads that help people and goods travel across Europe. The A14 mostly runs through three English counties: Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Northamptonshire. It's also part of international road numbers, known as Euroroutes E24 and E30.

This picture shows an old bridge that was part of the A14 in Huntingdon. It went over the main railway tracks. Because so many vehicles used it, the bridge needed extra support to stay strong. A new road has since been built, so this old bridge could be taken down.
