The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Sturgis is well-known for its annual motorcycle rally, sometimes called the Little Sturgis Rally. This event brings many motorcycle riders to the town each year. In 2005, around 20,000 visitors came to the rally. The rally usually happens in August. It took a break in 2020 and 2021 because of concerns about COVID-19, but it started again in 2024.

In 2013, a law was passed to combine all schools in Oktibbeha County into the Starkville School District. By 2015, the local high school that served Sturgis joined Starkville High School.
