Sturston is a special place in Norfolk, England. It's known as a deserted village, which means no one lives there anymore. It's also a civil parish, which is a small area used for local government.
Sturston is about 7.5 miles (12 km) north of Thetford and 25 miles (40 km) south-west of Norwich.
Why is Sturston Deserted?
Sturston became empty during the Second World War. The British Army took over the village. They needed the land for a training area called the Stanford Battle Area. Soldiers still use this area for training today.
Because it's a military training zone, most of Sturston is a restricted area. This means you can't visit without special permission from the Army.
