Where is Sulphur Rock?
Sulphur Rock is found about six miles east of Batesville. It is located along Arkansas Highway 69. The town is also about four miles north of the White River. Other nearby towns include Magness and Newark. They are about four and six miles southeast, also along Highway 69.
The town covers a total area of about 3.3 square kilometers (1.25 square miles). All of this area is land.

A Look at Sulphur Rock's Past
Sulphur Rock was once home to a very special type of transportation. It had the last regular mule-drawn tram line in the United States. This unique tram line stopped running in 1926.
