Sunset Beach is a lovely community located right on the beach. You can find it at the very end of Treasure Island, Florida, in Pinellas County. It's a great spot for families and visitors who love the sun and sand.

Exploring the Sunset Beach Neighborhood
Sunset Beach is one of three main beaches on Treasure Island. The other two are Sunshine Beach and Mid-Island Beach. Sunset Beach is mostly a place where people live.
Homes and Views in Sunset Beach
You'll see a mix of homes here. Some are older, like small fisherman cottages from the middle of the last century. Others are newer, built in a bright, colorful style like homes in Key West. These homes are nestled between the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Boca Ciega Bay on the other.
If you stand at the very southern tip of Sunset Beach, you can look across a small water channel called Blind Pass. On the other side, you'll see Upham Beach, which is part of St. Pete Beach.
Walking and Jogging on the Boardwalk
There's a special boardwalk that goes around the end of the island. It stretches for almost a mile over the sand dunes. This boardwalk is a perfect place to walk, jog, or just enjoy the amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico, especially when the sun sets!

Sunset Beach is a beautiful place to spend a day by the ocean. It has many features that make it fun and easy for everyone to enjoy.
Beach Pavilion and Facilities
Right on the beach, there's a special building called a pavilion. It was completely fixed up and opened again in May 2013. This pavilion has a place where you can buy snacks and drinks. It also has restrooms and showers, which are super handy after a swim. There's even a playground for younger kids to enjoy! The pavilion is easy for everyone to access, including those using wheelchairs. You can even rent it for special events. Nearby, there's a shady picnic area where you can eat your lunch.
Keeping the Beach Beautiful
Sometimes, big storms can wash away sand from beaches. This happened to Sunset Beach because of Tropical Storm Debby in 2012. To fix this, local officials worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. On June 18, 2013, they agreed to add new sand to Sunset Beach. This process is called "renourishment," and it helps keep the beach wide and sandy for everyone to enjoy.
