Survivor: One World was the 24th season of the popular American TV show Survivor. In this season, 18 new players competed for 39 days in Upolu, Samoa. What made this season special was that the two starting tribes, one of men and one of women, lived on the same beach!
The season aired from February 15, 2012, to May 13, 2012. In the end, Kim Spradlin was crowned the winner, beating Sabrina Thompson and Chelsea Meissner. Kim also won an extra $100,000 as the "Sprint Player of the Season," chosen by the fans.
This was the fourth Survivor season to start with tribes divided by gender. The "One World" idea meant that even though the tribes were separate, they shared a campsite. This led to interesting twists, like hidden immunity idols meant for the other tribe! These special rules changed after Day 12 when the tribes were mixed up.

Meet the Contestants
The 18 new players were first split into two tribes based on gender:
- Manono: The tribe of nine men, named after Manono Island.
- Salani: The tribe of nine women, named after a Samoan surfing resort.
Later, when the tribes merged, they formed a new tribe called Tikiano. This name was suggested by contestant Troy "Troyzan" Robertson, combining "Tiki" (meaning "God") and "Ano" (from the Spanish word for "year").
Some notable players this season included:
- Leif Manson, the first little person to ever compete on Survivor.
- "Troyzan" Robertson, a fashion photographer.
- Monica Culpepper, whose husband, Brad Culpepper, was a famous NFL football player and later played Survivor himself!

Future Appearances
Some contestants from Survivor: One World returned to play again in later seasons:
- Kat Edorsson, Colton Cumbie, and Monica Culpepper came back for Survivor: Blood vs. Water.
- "Troyzan" Robertson returned for Survivor: Game Changers.
- Kim Spradlin (now Spradlin-Wolfe) competed again on Survivor: Winners at War, a season featuring only past winners.
How the Season Played Out
The 18 players were split into men's and women's tribes, but they were surprised to find they would all live on the same beach! Even though they shared a camp, they had to build separate shelters and find food for their own tribe.
At first, the men's tribe, Manono, won most of the challenges. The women's tribe, Salani, was mostly controlled by an alliance of Alicia, Chelsea, Kat, Kim, and Sabrina.
A big moment happened when Sabrina found a Hidden Immunity Idol meant for the men's tribe. She gave it to Colton, a man who was often causing trouble in his tribe. Colton used this power to shake things up in the Manono tribe.
Later, the tribes were mixed up. Colton was still in a powerful spot, but he had to leave the game because of a medical emergency (appendicitis). Meanwhile, on the new Salani tribe, Kim and Chelsea made a new alliance with Jay and Troyzan as a backup plan.
When the tribes merged, Kim brought all the women together into one strong alliance. With Colton gone, the men didn't have a clear leader. Jay and Troyzan joined the women, and they voted out two of the remaining men.
After that, the women decided to vote out Jay and Troyzan, even though Troyzan tried to convince Kat and Christina (who were at the bottom of the women's alliance) to join him. Tarzan was the last man left.
However, Kat's unpredictable behavior made Kim decide to vote her out next. With only six players left, Kim was stuck between her original allies (Chelsea and Sabrina) and a group of Alicia, Christina, and Tarzan. Kim convinced Alicia that Tarzan was planning to betray her, leading to Tarzan's elimination. Alicia and Christina were then voted out by Kim, Chelsea, and Sabrina.
Final Tribal Council
At the end, Chelsea, Kim, and Sabrina faced the jury, who were the players voted out earlier.
- Chelsea was criticized for not having many social connections and for mostly following Kim's lead.
- Sabrina was praised for her good social skills and loyalty, but some jurors thought she didn't work hard enough or perform well in challenges.
- Kim was praised for winning challenges, making connections with everyone, and always thinking ahead strategically. However, she was also blamed for all the surprise votes (blindsides).
Kim took responsibility for all her decisions in the game. She won with a vote of 7-2-0, meaning she got 7 votes, Sabrina got 2 (from Troyzan and Leif), and Chelsea got 0.
