Susan Moore is a small town in Blount County, Alabama, United States. In 2020, about 787 people lived there. It's special because it's one of only two towns in Alabama named after a person's first and last name. The other town is Phil Campbell.

History of Susan Moore
The area now known as Susan Moore was first settled in the mid-1860s by Robert M. Moore and his family. Back then, it was called "Clarence."
In 1923, two of Robert Moore's grandsons gave land to build a new school. They named the school after their mother, Susan Moore. Over time, the whole community started using the name Susan Moore. The town officially became a town in 1982.
Geography and Location
Susan Moore is located in the northeastern part of Blount County, Alabama. It sits in a region called Sand Mountain.
State Highway 75 goes right through the middle of the town. This highway connects Susan Moore to Oneonta, which is about 10 miles (16 km) southwest and is the county seat. It also leads northeast about 18 miles (29 km) to Albertville. The Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River flows through the northwest edge of the town.
The town covers a total area of about 5.4 square miles (14.0 km²). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.31%, is water.
Education in Susan Moore
Susan Moore High School is the main public school in Susan Moore. It teaches students from 7th to 12th grade. The school has about 360 students. Most of the students are white, and about one-third are Hispanic. The school is part of the Blount County School District.
The school, and later the town, were named after Susan Moore, the mother of the people who donated the land for the school. The school's mascot is the Bulldogs, and its colors are purple and white. Susan Moore High School was recognized as an accredited school in Alabama in 1929. A famous baseball player named Eddie Priest went to this school.
